Research interests

Prof Andrei Rode’ research interests are in short-pulse laser-matter interaction, laser-induced phase transitions and transient states of matter, laser-produced nanoclusters and their properties, laser ablation and deposition of nonlinear optical films for photonics applications, laser trapping of particles in air, and related phenomena.

 

Biography

Andrei Rode graduated from the Moscow State University, Russia, in 1975 and received his PhD degree from the Lebedev Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1987. In 1989 he joined the Laser Physics Center at the Australian National University, where he is currently Emeritus Professor.
