My research interests lie in the ocean dynamics. I am particularly interested in the interaction of the ocean circulation across a range of scales and the role of small-scale ocean currents in the global ocean and climate. I use a combination of theory, numerical modelling and in situ observations in my research. 

I am a physical oceanographer and currently a Research Fellow at the Australian National University. The focus of my research is to understand the impacts of internal tides on the Southern Ocean circulation and the ocean heat transport towards Antarctica. 

I obtained my BSc in Marine Sciences at the Ocean University of China in June 2015, and PhD in Quantitative Marine Science at the University of Tasmania in December 2019. My PhD research focused on investigating the impacts of lee waves on the Southern Ocean circulation using an eddy-resolving ocean model in MOM6. After completing my PhD, I joined UCLA as a Postdoctoral Scholar to study the eddy—near-inertial wave interactions in the North Atlantic Subpolar Gyre using ROMS.
