Biography

Dr Yimao Wan (ANU) has over 13 years’ experience as researcher and project manager in semiconductor and photovoltaics. He received the B.E. degree from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2004, and PhD degree from the Australian National University in 2014. His PhD thesis on the passivation of silicon surfaces by silicon nitride was awarded the best thesis prize in the Solar Canberra. Since then, he has been working at the ANU as a research fellow, coordinating a large ARENA-Trina project (~$2 million) from grant application to daily activity management. Dr Wan has a proven track-record of 60 scientific publications in international conferences and peer-reviewed journals.

Researcher's projects

- ARENA project partnered with TrinaSolar working on novel passivating materials for high efficiency silicon solar cells

- ARC Discovery Project partnered with École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne working on TCO based carrier selective contacts

- AUSIAPV project partnered with University of Berkeley working on developing advanced hole transport materials for silicon solar cells
