Research interests
His research interests are mainly in second-language acquisition, contrastive linguistics, cross-cultural negotiation, and issues of economic development. He is currently researching the study design for Vietnamese as LOTE, Vietnamese Proficiency Rating Scale, language education policy to overseas Vietnamese, and pragma-linguistic aspects of business communications.
Biography
Dr. Bao Duy Thai [BA (Hue Univ), MS (Eastern Univ., PA, USA) and PhD (VNU)] is a senior lecturer in the Southeast Asia Centre. He specializes in Applied Linguistics and Economic Development. He is the convener of the Vietnamese courses, including Vietnamese 1A-B, Vietnamese 2A-B, Vietnamese 3 A-B and English-Vietnamese Translation. He is also a coordinator of the course 'Windows onto Contemporary Vietnamese Society' and Vietnam Field School.
