Research interests
I am currently focused on developments in corporate governance, prudential regulation, and money laundering especially during COVID, I am also working on a research project looking at missings persons data and demograhy.
Biography
My specialty includes prudential regulation (including compliance and enforcement), corporate and commercial law, constitutional law, administrative law and statutory interpretation and drafting.
I have participated in compliance action ranging from informal action and moral suasion to formal action utilising legislative powers and prosecutions.
I have an on-going interest and background in anthropology and philosophy with a particular interest in rituals and symbols (especially of the law). I am interested in the utility of big data in understanding crime and criminal behaviour.
I am also a true believer in risk management, which can be a potent tool when properly done. It requires patience, resourcing, structure, support and recognisable outcomes and benefits.
Currently I am researching developments in corporate governance during the COVID-19 outbreak, financial sector regulation and money laundering.
