Biography

Stuart completed undergraduate medical studies in Malta, before moving to the United Kingdom to pursue a career in respiratory medicine. He trained in Dundee and Liverpool before becoming a consultant respiratory physician in Tayside, Scotland. During that time he was a National Research Fellow for Scotland and undertook research in airways disease and lung cancer.  

He joined Canberra Health Services in 2017 as the new Director for Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and was appointed Clinical Associate Professor with the Australian National University in 2020. Stuart has authored several peer-reviewed publications, abstracts and book chapters. He manages a wide range of general respiratory conditions and has a special interest in interventional bronchoscopy, interstitial lung disease and complex respiratory infection.
