Biography
Anna joined the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions at the end of 2022. She is also an honorary fellow at the School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences, where she previously held teaching and research appointments at the University of Melbourne. Anna has worked for research institutes and civil society organisations on diverse topics, and her movement between research, policy, and community spaces is underpinned by concerns for justice, equity, and ethics in human-environmental relations.
Anna’s research and teaching practice aims to contribute to more just and sustainable worlds. Much of her work focuses on the social, ethical and political dimensions of environmental governance, resource development, and sustainability transitions. Anna has a particular interest in tropical regions and frontier landscapes with histories of conservation and development interventions. Anna is interested in facilitating and contributing to collaborative, interdisciplinary, and place-based research that builds long-term partnerships and local capabilities in responding creatively and adaptively to systemic and climate-induced changes across a range of scales.
