Research interests
My main research focuses on experimental petrology and geochemistry, where I use piston-cylinder and multianvil devices, often supported by studies of natural mantle lithologies and mantle-derived volcanic rocks.
My particular interest is to experimentally constrain melting, phase, redox and rheological relations of a wide range of mantle lithologies such as peridotite, eclogites and pyroxenites that contain varying amounts of trace elements and volatiles (C-O-H) and how these bear upon the geochemical diversity and redox states of mantle derived magmas.
In particular, I am interested in using experimental and associated various sophisticated micro-analytical and micro-imaging techniques to improve our understanding of deep Earth’s volatile cycles.
