Biography
Xiaoyu Lu is a research fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University, with expertise in global norm diffusion, international development institutions and China's foreign policy.
He received a D.Phil in Politics at University of Oxford, and the dissertation is a political ethnography of UN agency and China's emerging role in international development norms. He previously worked as a policy associate at United Nations Development Programme, and has been involved in policy research and field missions in Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar and Peru, providing policy advice and consultation to Chinese and international think tanks and institutions. He has been awarded with Dahrendorf Scholar, Gilbert Murry UN Study Award, BP Award in International Development and Vice-Chancellor's Fund in Oxford, and his publications included UN reports, policy papers, academic articles, and non-fiction works in media.
