Biography

Dr Lambropoulos joined academia in 2004 after working as a solicitor and a barrister. Since that time she has taught and been involved in the design of a range of subjects with her principal subject being employment/workplace law. Dr Lambropoulos maintains her practising certificate as a barrister and continues to be involved in the life of the Victorian Bar in particular the Industrial Bar Association. She also has strong ties with the Industrial Relations Society of Victoria having been a Past President. She is also a national committee member of the Australian Labour Law Association. Her involvement in these organisations have enriched her teaching and research.

PhD: Dr Lambropoulos was awarded her PhD in 2015. Her thesis examined the Employer's Contractual Power to Summarily Dismiss Employees. In her thesis she proposed a new way of resolving these disputes through the prism of proportionality.

Publishing: Dr Lambropoulos has published in highly regarded academic journals and also continues to contribute to professional journals in Australia and internationally. Her key research areas are employment / workplace law and labour laws which intersect with environment/climate change issues. She also won 2 research awards in 2013.

Teaching Excllence: Dr Lambropoulos is a passionate, enthusiastic and innovative teacher. She was recognised for her excellence in teaching having been awarded a Teaching Excellence Award in 2013.

Expertise in Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) Author/Editor: Dr Lambropoulos is a primary editor of a number of publications. She is a primary editor of the Fair Work Legislation published by Thomson Reuters annually. This is the leading annotated service in this area. She is also the general protections/common law section editor of the Workplace Review and also is the employment and industrial law editor of the Australian Business Law Review.
