Research interests

In broad terms, my research interests include computer vision, signal processing, and machine learning. In particular, I am interested in working on open research problems in scene understanding, semantic labeling, object recognition and classification, structured learning, graphical models and deep neural networks.

I am a Research Scientist at the Computer Vision Research Group (CVRG) at Data61, CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) and an Adjunct Lecturer at College of Electrical & Computer Science (CECS), Australian National University (ANU). Previously, I completed my PhD in Computer Vision from The University of Western Australia (UWA) and a Bachelors (Hons) from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. I have also been a visiting researcher at National ICT Australia (NICTA), CRL, in 2015. I was awarded prestigious scholarships including the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and the Fullbright Scholarship.
