Biography

Dr Elly Kent is a visual artist, writer, translator and researcher. Her doctoral research examined the historical precedents for participatory art in Indonesia and its contemporary manifestations. She has worked with national and regional galleries and has extensive experience in managing soft-diplomacy projects with youth and students.  Elly was a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Australia-Asia Postgraduate Award and was the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art’s emerging artist award in 2012.
