Research interests

Economics and policy of climate change, including policy mechanisms for greenhouse gas control, climate change adaptation, and international climate policy; energy policy and land-use change; economic reform and political economy; structural change and development; Australia, China and Indonesia.


Frank Jotzo works on the economics and policy of climate change, as well as on broader issues of development and economic reform. He has advised governments and consulted for international organisations. He has been advisor to Australia's Garnaut Climate Change Review, advisor to Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance, and is a Lead Author of the Fifth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He a frequent contributor to the public and policy debate in Australia and internationally. Frank is Director of the Centre for Climate Economics & Policy at the ANU Crawford School, and a Deputy Director of the ANU Climate Change Institute.
