Research interests

My research focuses on using the latest in DNA sequencing technologies and computer-based analyses to understand the evolution and epidemiology of bacteria. In particular, I focus upon enteric bacteria causing gastro-intestinal disease, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica and Shigella species, that are significant human pathogens
