Biography

Maria Garcia is a senior lecturer in the Department of Politics, Languages and International Relations at the University of Bath, where she teaches and researches the politics of EU Trade policy and of international Free trade agreements. She is particularly interested in norm promotion through FTAs and how existing FTAs constrain future ones. She is co-convenor of an ESRC-funded seminar series on Governance through Free Trade Agreements in Asia, Europe and America (GIFTA), and is co-editor of the forthcoming Handboof of EU Trade Policy (Edward Elgar).
