Biography
Dr Thang Nam Do is a research fellow at the Grand Challenge Program on Zero Carbon Energy for Asia Pacific, Australian National University.
Before joining the ANU, he worked with the Vietnam Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as Deputy Director General of International Cooperation, Global Environment Facility (GEF) Operational Focal Point, Chair of Association of Southeast Nations Association (ASEAN) Working Group on Climate Change, and national focal point of: ASEAN Working Group on Environmentally Sustainably Cities, Water Environment Partnership for Asia and Clean Technology Fund.
He has led research projects on drivers and barriers to Vietnam's solar PV adoption, water environmental management for river basins, reviewing environmental economic instruments for revision of the Law on Environmental Protection, assessing environmental cobenefits of climate change mitigation policy, pollution damage and national park valuation. In addition, he has acted as a resource person for various regional and national environmental policy issues, including water environmental management and sustainable cities.
Thang Nam Do attains PhD and Master in Environment Management and Development from the Australian National University and Bachelor in Environmental Engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Canada.
