Gboyega is a PhD student at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian National University. He completed a BSc (Hons) in Geography in 2004 and a PgDiploma in Social Work at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 2009. He also obtained a Master of Engineering Science at the University of Newcastle, Australia in 2011. He is an alumnus of the Institute of development studies at the University of Sussex.
